I am looking to grant everyone in the company environment maker (including new users) to additional environments that we created. We would like this to happen automatically. Is it possible to assign environment maker to a security group?
I just got it working with an Office Security Group and the Environment Maker role (Worked After 24h).
It seems it is finally working.
The part about Environment Maker role which needs to be assigned directly to the user is so so bad...
When you add CDS to an environment, you're environment gets harder to administrate...
Do you know which page give this particuliar information ?
Thanks.
Currently you cant assign the environment maker role to a security group which has been mapped to Team in the Power Platform. You have to grant the maker role directly to the user in CDS environments with the exception of the default environment.
More information:- https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/manage-teams
"System Administrator and Environment Maker security roles. These are special administrator's security roles and they need to be assigned to the user directly. If these security roles are assigned to Group teams, team members get the team privileges only and won't have any direct/inherited privileges."
yes, I tried below instruction and no luck. Users have E3 licenses.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/control-user-access
Does your environment have cds database enabled?
Could you please provide steps how to add security group?
Yes we can have sexurity groups added.
There is one default everyone but external user if I can recall and it is automated.
