Update date and time based on choice without erasing field when changed

I want to record now() in Actual start date when choice is in progress and then if choice is changed to closed record it in Actual end date, I want this to be done without actual start date being erased when the choice is updated. i used the calculated field to do this and encounter this problem

Hi @Sean9,

Apologies for late reply! You easily achieve this with a Power Automate flow or classic workflow if you need it to be synchronous (real-time). In short, the flow/workflow triggers on update on the audit status field, has a condition to check the status and then updates the start/end date accordingly. Hope this answers your question!
