I want to automate sending messages or triggering a flow recursively (for example, re-invoking the same flow or agent logic based on the result of a previous run).

Is there a supported way to implement recursive or loop-based automation using Copilot Studio and Power Automate?

If direct recursion isn’t supported, what are the recommended patterns (polling, state tracking, delayed retries, or re-entry via the agent) to achieve similar behavior?

Hello @PT-12011013-0,

You can’t really do direct recursion in Copilot Studio. Agent can’t trigger itself and return output immediately.

But in Power Automate, you can get close by using scheduled flows. You just set the flow to run at a certain time (or on a schedule), so it can “call itself” again and give the output.

@PT-12011013-0, As far as I know, Copilot Studio agents can’t send direct messages in Teams under their own identity, since they don’t have a native Teams persona to appear as the sender. If you need to push content into Teams, it has to be done through Power Automate or a Teams app connector, and the message will appear as coming from the Flow bot or the app itself.
