Send an email to the Principal (Management Level) not the direct manager

Hello.

I have seen where you can send an email to the next level manager of the user using the Get Manager action.

Is it possible to get a specific management level for the user?

For example, Walter is a Consultant and we need to send an email to the Walter's Principal, Mary Ann.    There are several managemet levels between Walter and Mary Ann and its not always the same amount of management levels that separate the user and the Principal.

Would this be possible?

Thank you for you time.

    Hi @Misa

    You could keep looping through the get manager until you find the manager with the correct designation (Principal)

    Hi @Misa ,

    Unfortunately, the current feature of Flow can only obtain the manager of the direct report. For the time being, it does not support directly obtaining the user info of the corresponding Principal.

    The approach provided by RezaDorrani is correct, but there seems to be no clear way to stop the loop.

    The method I can provide here is to use the SharePoint List or Excel table to record the current user and the corresponding Principal. The corresponding user information can be obtained through such correspondence.

    But this requires preparing the data in advance, which seems to be a very tedious job.

    Best Regards,

    @v-bacao-msft  and @RezaDorrani

    Thank you for the suggestions.  Sounds like the best way to go about it would be to have a lookup field filled out by the user.  Automation is not available at this time.

    I will submit a suggestion for a possible future enhancement.

    Thank you all for your time!
