I found that the versionnumber field is not a updated sequentially.

I created a record, the versionnumber is initialized at 1291821.

Then I update this record, it become to 1291842.

I want to know what's the meaning behind versionnumber? Could it start with 1 and increased by 1 when update?

Tip: I query these data from SSMS according  Use SQL to query data (Preview)
