Exporting Copilot via Power Apps results in broken zip file.

Hi all,

What I do
  • Build a Copilot in Copilot studio
  • Create a solution in Power Apps and add the Copilot
  • Publish and export the solution (unmanaged)
  • Receive a message about successful export in Power Apps, I download it
What I get
  • a broken zip file (can not be opened / extracted in Windows)
  • an error message when trying to import the zip file
This error exists for one of my Copilots, the other ones work fine.

Any ideas how to tackle this?

The issue could be related to how Windows is handling the ZIP file. Sometimes the Windows Defender/Antivirus doesnt allow some Zip files.

Double-check if the export process in Power Apps includes all the necessary dependencies and components. If not, go back and manually select any additional elements that may have been omitted.

If u feel both are correct, then you can try raising a Microsoft ticket.

    Thanks.

Thank you for your quick response, Vinoth.

I can most likely rule out Antivirus intervention, but I'll look into it again.

Just to be sure, what's the best way to check for necessary dependencies and components?
And where / how do I issue the ticket?

    cheers,
    Falk

Before exporting, you can check the necessary components (e.g., entities, workflows, custom connectors) are included in your solution. Power Apps will typically prompt you about missing dependencies during export. Inside the Solution, you also have an option to include the dependencies.

    Mainly check the below components.

    • Custom Connectors: Ensure any custom connectors (e.g., APIs) are properly referenced.
    • Flows: If using Power Automate, ensure all flows are properly included and functional.
    • Plugins: Any external plugins, libraries, or third-party integrations should be included in the solution.
    • Security Roles: Ensure the correct roles are associated with the solution.

    Thanks.
