Child Agent Publishing Issue

Hi All,

We developed an agent in our dev environment and we used a child agent to run a particular task when triggered.

To give more users access to teh agent we exported and imported the agent from our dev environment to

our production Pay as You Go environment. The import waas successful and we could share it and add teh Teams channel but when we try to publish we

get an error relating to the child agent:

Has anyone seen this issue with child agents after an import?

Hi

Did you add the child agent to your solution before exporting and in the prod environment did you publish the child agent and the parent agent?

Hi @JasonTwi,

This is a known Copilot Studio bug.

The InvalidPropertyPath error after import is caused by a publish‑time validation issue with child agent inputs. Multiple community threads confirm this happens even when testing works, and Microsoft has acknowledged it as a product defect.

Workaround: remove child agent inputs (or recreate the child agent in the target environment). A permanent fix requires an engineering update, recommend opening a Microsoft support ticket and referencing existing community reports.

Yes we published the agents in sequence but the publishing issue appeared for both publishing attempts.
