Hi ,
I have created an agent to store the data from teams to dataverse custom entity i have created an simple topic to get the user input and storing the data through MCP dataverse server. I know that we cannot directly add the MCP dataverse server to topic i have added it in tools and instructed the agent to store the value giving the logical name.
In copilot test i can successfully save the record to dataverse but when i publish it to teams its fails team agent says it dont know what is MCP server
i have asked for the list of tool its able to access its giving all the custom and system topic but the MCP server
I have the same question (0)

Check Agent Settings → Generative AI → Orchestration → turn it On. MCP needs generative orchestration to work, classic mode only sees topics.

If that's already on, use a Power Automate flow with Dataverse "Add a new row" instead.

    Hello @NC-24061200-0,
This usually happens because the Teams conversation is still using an older published session or the MCP connection isn’t active in the Teams runtime, even though it works in the Copilot Studio test pane. MCP tools are agent-level tools (not topics), require generative orchestration, and depend on a valid connection manager connection. Republish the agent, verify the MCP tool is enabled and Connected under Settings > Connection settings, then in Teams start a fresh session using start over and test again.

    Hi ,
Thank you all for you reply. But i have tried multiple time publishing the agent to the teams but teams not able to identify MCP server during the execution .Is there any document proving that Mcp cannot work for topic even through instruction .Because I want to save the data from topic to Dataverse through agent instruction it is failing only for teams
