I want to developed a simple barcode scanner app for truck

1. Each truck details(including Driver name) is populated in a sharepoint list

2. the truck details should be able to convert to barcode which will be printed out to all drivers as their entry pass to scan.

NB: i dont want to use online barcode generator, want it to come from sharepoint or powerapp

Any video or post to put me through the process will be appreciated.

@Anonymous You could use Barcodes in SharePoint. To activate follow these steps

    1. Activate this feature

Site Collection Administration > Site Collection Features > In Place Records Management

    2. List Settings > Information management policy settings > Item > Enable Barcodes

In you ListView you can now add the Column Barcode and Barcode Value.

    3. Build an app with a barcode scanner, scan the barcode generated by sharepoint and Filter the list based on the barcode value.

Thanks @PowerRanger , it seems "Site Collection Administration" is not available on my sharepoint online.

@Anonymous Well its available for sure but only for "Site Collection Administrators". So you need to get in touch with your Sharepoint Admin and ask him if this feature could be activated by him.

    Hi @Anonymous :

Using PCF is also an option, although I would recommend using the public API to generate barcodes.
