I am trying to change the name of a bot (Microsoft Copilot Studio), but I keep receiving the error message "This bot name already exists in this environment. Choose a unique bot name." Do you have any suggestions on how I can resolve this issue? Thank you for your help in advance.

That means that there is another Copilot in the same environment with that name. It is impossible to have two copilots with the exact same name in the same environment/solution.

Try one of three things:
1. From the same environment in Copilot Studio, click on "Copilots" in the top left, and then click once on the "Name" header column to sort them all by Copilot name and find the duplicate. It may be possible for you to decide which name can be changed, or to remove the unwanted duplicate if it is owned by you.

2. Change your desired name enough to avoid the duplication. (Although I would want to check with the owner of the duplicate to make sure you're not creating a discovery issue for their bot.)

3. Ask the Admin to look for the duplicate name for you in case the duplicate is hidden from your view for some reason. Then you can speak with the owner and come to a concensus together on who gets to keep that name 🙂
