Embedded Canvas app missing ModelDrivenFormIntegration

I created a canvas app and embedded it on a model driven form. I am able to get the app to display, but for some reason the ModelDrivenFormIntegration is not showing in the Power App Designer when editing my canvas app.

I tried from the classic UI, new UI, and opening the app directly from make.powerapps. I need to use data from the model driven app within the canvas app.

Thank you!

Below is what I am missing from my app:

    Hi @nvrhughes ,

You will have to switch to classic form edit mode to customize the embedded Canvas app then the integration control would come up in the App's edit mode.

    Hope this helps.

It seems that the latest changes on the unified interface have messed up things: it is impossible to use the classic interface for embedding the canvas app. It looks like it is possible to add one to a modeldriven form, but unfortunately the ModelDriveIntegration control is not added. Opening the app from the form in Classic mode gives an error on opening the properties of the canvas app control. So we seem to have a catch-22... 😞

    Somebody an updated solution?

Not sure why this is marked solved. This is still an issue as described by @gv-booost as far as I can tell.

It has been more than a year, and I cannot remember how I have dealt with it. If it was a smart move, then I would have made a note of it, but I cannot find any note. So it will probably something like: remove it from the form, save the form, publish it, open it again and add it again. In various sequences... until the next morning to see that there is no problem whatsoever.

I think I've found the solution.

When opening the Canvas App or Custom Page in Edit mode from the solution you will get an URL similar to:

    'https://make.powerapps.com/e/f67674dc-60c8-e967-b2f5-4cba22e2af52/canvas/?action=edit&app-id=%2Fproviders%2FMicrosoft.PowerApps%2Fapps%2F990e08d0-08bd-4f1f-9fc7-311a4dca29d0&solution-id=da3c3b54-6ae2-4e61-a064-90aeb5349441 '

By changing the URL you can enforce the Power Apps Studio editor to include the ModelDrivenFormIntegration object.

At the end of the url paste the following text: '&source=ModelDrivenFormIntegration&is-hosted=true'

Meaning the url as mentioned before will look like: 'https://make.powerapps.com/e/f67674dc-60c8-e967-b2f5-4cba22e2af52/canvas/?action=edit&app-id=%2Fproviders%2FMicrosoft.PowerApps%2Fapps%2F990e08d0-08bd-4f1f-9fc7-311a4dca29d0&solution-id=da3c3b54-6ae2-4e61-a064-90aeb5349441
    &source=ModelDrivenFormIntegration&is-hosted=true'

Now, when the app opens it will work as shown below.

I dont remember the specifics, but the Canvas app needs a field on the form to be able to embed in the model driven app. It may be the Primary Key of the table.
In the old UI, add the field, then go to controls, and select Canvas app as the control .

    Hello Community!

Thank you for this advice, that I followed to get the "connection" between Dataverse form and the embedded canvas app. What is happening to me is that, in the Canvas App design I can take and see data from a Dataverse table but I cannot see or use any field once the canvas app is embedded in the form.

This is a screenshot of the Canvas app design screen:
the anotherVar value is given by the expresision:
    ModelDrivenFormIntegration.Item.Name

This is the form, where I show how the same data is not shown in the embedded app in the form:

Just to clarify: I the App OnStart and Screen OnVisible I have:
    Refresh(Tickets)

I will appreciate any help resolving that.
    Thank you!
    Diego.
