Unable to access Picture-in-Picture through code editor

Hi all,

Just wanted to flag that I have been unable to access the Picture-in-Picture functionality in Power Automate Desktop through the debug menu in the code editor recently.

I'm not sure if this started after an update or if some other variable has changed but the only way for me to access the Picture-in-Picture functionality is by running the flow outside the editor, but this significantly handicaps our ability to debug complicated flows.

FWIW I am running PAD on a machine I access with RDP, but this has not historically been an issue for me.

Hoping someone else has seen this before and knows a fix.

Regards

    HI,

the Picture-in-Picture feature in the Debug menu has been disabled. To enable PiP, you now need to set it up at the machine level by running a specific command PAD.ChildSession.Installer.Host.exe. Once enabled, PiP can be triggered through flow properties or the console instead of the Debug menu. Additionally, ensure that your system meets prerequisites, like having a supported Windows edition and proper RDP settings. If using RDP, make sure to adjust settings for local login and credential delegation.

PiP refer to Picture-in-Picture must be enabled at the machine level first using the command PAD.ChildSession.Installer.Host.exe from the PAD install folder (run as Admin)

    Hi Riyaz,

Thanks for the response! I have tried running the executable you mentioned in C:\Program Files (x86)\Power Automate Desktop\dotnet as Administrator but this does not seem to have solved it, even after a reboot. I have marked the flow as Picture in Picture in the Flow Properties too but this does not cause it to run as Picture in Picture when launching via the editor.

Are you able to elaborate on what you mean by console, local login and credential delegation? The only other plausible issue I suppose I can imagine is that these machines we are using are still on Windows 10 but the thread above mentions it is happening on Windows 11 too...

I also have this issue and have re-executed the PIP command with no luck.
