SharePoint Get Items - Top Count not working

Hi all,

It appears that the top count advanced filter function within the new SharePoint List Get Items function does not work, or perhaps i am misunderstanding. In Power Automate cloud you specify an integer and the number of rows retrieved matches the specified integer. In PAD, it appears to retrieve all rows matching the ODATA query and ignores your top count. This is problematic if the SharePoint list is large as you cannot batch your queries and run into issues with thresholds..

Any one have any insight into this?

Regards,

James

I have the same question (1)

    Hi @Jpownall1

You are right, it is not working as even if we provide Top_Count equals to 1, it still captures all relevant records.

@Agnius  do you have any thoughts on this ?

    Thanks & Regards,

I can confirm it doesn't work. Seems like a bug. May be worth reporting it to MS support. The more reports they receive, the more likely they will fix it some time soon.

Thanks both, great to have confirmation.

A workaround i'm using is to trigger the flow from Cloud using Get Items from the cloud flow then writing the output as an input object variable. You can then iterate through this in an apply to each loop in PAD and write back to SharePoint using the new 'update item' function. If you have large lists to iterate through this is much more efficient, as you only need to query the sharepoint list once and can then run items in a loop locally - previously PAD would restart the flow and reconnect from cloud each time, adding sometimes 30 seconds per loop..

    Regards,
