Hi everyone,

Is there a performance difference between Sandbox and Production environments?

Best regards,

Maxim

    Hi @MaximBritvin,

There used to be a difference in performance from sandbox to production types, but now (it's been over a year...) Microsoft has confirmed that there's no performance difference between both, unless that recently changed and I'm unaware. The only differences are:

    1) additional environment operations that can be performed on sandbox (e.g. delete)

    2) we shouldn't be able to raise Microsoft Support Tickets under sandbox, however that seems false because I do it all the time!

    Hope this clarifies...

    Hi @MaximBritvin,

I don't believe documentation states what type of hardware each environment type is on. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if production environments were on a higher tier of Azure virtual machines than sandbox or others. That being said, the documentation here does state the following:

Each web server available to your environment will enforce these limits independently. Most environments will have more than one web server. Trial environments are allocated only a single web server. The actual number of web servers that are available to your environment depends on multiple factors that are part of the managed service we provide. One of the factors is how many user licenses you have purchased.

    Hope this helps.
