VIrtual Agent - Register a question on a Excel File

Hi all!

I just started using the virtual agents and was confronted with a question from my manager regarding questions.

It´s possible to record a question writen on virtual agents and store it on a excel file, together with the email from who is writing it so it can be answerd later?

For Example: Here i have  some topics that the user will explore and on the bottom, there is OTHERS, that when cliked, he will be asked to write his question, for later replay. This information would be stored on a excel on our sharepoint and be answered later directly on his email.

Thanks in advance

Kind Regards

    Hi Matt,

    Hope you are doing well!

thanks for the replay and sorry for my delay, I was doing this together with some other activities here.

But in a nutshell i was able to create what was intended.
Now after i request his email and questios and store that as variables as the tutorial informed, I was able to use the power automate to register that on a excel file that is located on our sharepoint site.

    Thanks for the help!

Hi, @RaphaFritz . Yes, you can easily do this with Power Automate. If you're familiar with how to use Power Automate to update an Excel file, write to a SharePoint list, etc. you'll find that by using "Call an action" within PVA you can pass what a user types to a Flow, and then perform the necessary steps with that data.

Here's a tutorial from the Microsoft Learn site on how to pass data between PVA and Power Automate.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/modules/enhance-power-virtual-agents-bots/2-power-automate

(fyi - if you want the user's email, the easiest solution is having Teams-Only authentication on the bot and hosting it in Teams, where you'll then get a System.User.Email variable inside PVA for the user and can pass that to Power Automate. If your bot is anonymous, you'll need to ask the user for their email and track it in a variable or setup SSO for a different channel other than Teams)

    Cheers,

    Matt
