Canvas app taking too much time to load in teams

Hi Folks,

I have a canvas app added as a website tab in teams. It takes really long time to open the app from teams when compared to browser. The initial load screen takes around 8 to 12 seconds to load (below image), after which the actual app start screen shows up.

Is there anyway to speed up this load time? I believe the app onstart is not linked with this? Any suggestions to optimize this will be appreciated.

Without looking at your app in its entirety its hard to give a prognosis. Performance issues can be many things how you writing your gallery or variables. Hi @Crullgl ,

Thank you for your response. Although, I'm not looking to optimize the performance once app start screen is shown. The start up (blue) screen with the app title is taking long time (the picture in my original post). When I did a check using monitor, one session took 3.5 seconds for the app to load (app opened successfully operation as below). The App OnStart executes only after this.

Whereas, one of my other apps, took only 352ms to complete the same operation.

Could you please let me know what are the factors that affect this time and how to optimize the same?

Going to refer you to this it more than likely is due to your OnStart script. This is what can lag your load if there is a lot going on or you are pulling a lot of data. See Common canvas apps performance issues and resolutions - Power Apps | Microsoft Docs
