How to troubleshoot - You don't have permission to create this row

This has been driving me crazy - I am using Business Unit security.  I have a test user.  I have created a Security role and assign the security role directly to the user.  In the security role, the user has Org level access for all (read, write, create, append,...) for the table that the user is trying to create a row in.  However, no matter what I do I keep getting

You don't have permission to create this row.

I have also give the user full access to the tables that have Lookup columns in the table i am trying to add a row to.

Is there some way to get an idea of why this user cannot create this record ?  Is there some way to troubleshoot this ?

thanks

Dave

I believe it might be related to the permissions to the related records. Any chance you have a full log? If it doesn't say that explicitly try to capture the network log - it should give you more details.

    Hi @Daved1 ,

Please review and verify the Append permissions on the table you were working with and the Append To of any Lookup columns you might have related on this table and verify the permissions accordingly or you would get this type of error.

Once you see the error pop up, scroll down in the pop-up and click on 'download log'.  You can paste it here or try to read it yourself, but inside there somewhere it should say 'user doesn't have the privCreate Permission on xxx' or something to that effect. It should tell you exactly the permission you are missing. The permission generally start with 'priv' or 'prv' so you can search for that in the error log.

Thanks all for the suggestions.  My mistake was I was trying to troubleshoot thru the Canvas app error .  This error was not helpful.  Once I tried to add records directly to the table in Dataverse then the errors were much more helpful and I was able to make some progress.
