New Data Grid - PowerApps Studio freezes

Hi.

I've been trying out the new data grid in PowerApps.
By default when you add a data source to the grid it creates a column for EVERY column in my SharePoint list, including metadata.

This now causes massive strain within PowerApps when you have more than 10 columns in your list.
The problem is, because PowerApps freezes, I'm finding it impossible to delete the grid and I can't continue working on the app.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

As this control is still in preview it would be helpful if you can show some screenshots and the structure of the list that you are using.

    Below is the screenshot.
As you can see, my SharePoint list which contains many different types of columns, consists of 54 in total, including metadata. Yes, this is a high number but I've experienced the same problem from about 8 columns.
So when you connect to data, the grid brings in all of this info as opposed to galleries, forms, tables where it limits the initial number of fields that are automatically generated.

Naturally, the 1st thing to do would be to remove the fields that are not required, but because PowerApps Studio is frozen, you can't do it. And you can't work on any other parts of your app.

Trying to see if I get the same experience. Can you indicate what you have this set to? - Explicit column selection For SharePoint online in Settings

    Good morning.

My "explicit column" selection is turned on.

How many standard columns do you have in your SharePoint list?

Yes — this is a known issue many makers are experiencing with the newer Data Grid/Table control in Power Apps, especially when connected to large SharePoint

lists with many columns and metadata fields.

    The freezing typically happens because:
    • the grid automatically generates all columns,
    • including hidden/system metadata columns,
    • which significantly increases rendering and delegation overhead.

My list has 17 columns and I have 14 selected.

As indicated the feature is still in preview therefore it is expected that difficulties would be experienced. A slower response would be expected with large lists but you indicated that it is unresponsive with 10 columns which seems weird.

Try creating a new SharePoint list with two columns, add sample data, use this data source with the control, check the responsiveness, and keep adding columns. This should give you a measure of what will currently work in your environment.

Also 54 columns seems like a lot, what type of application are you trying to create?
