Change the Blobmanager link to Base64

Hello everyone,

I have a Question, is there any way to change the Blobmanager link from a PenInput to Base64?

In my App, I have several Datacards with Input Fields and I save them into an Excel file on OneDrive. I also save the Signature in my Excel file but my Problem is that it saves the Image as a Blobmanager Link and I want to save it as an Base64.

I hope you understand what I try ro achieve.

Thanks

If your ultimate aim is to save signatures from the PenInput control, the best way is to define your Excel column as an image column by suffixing the column name with [image].

That way, the form/data cards will natively save the images into OneDrive without you needing to mess about with Base64 encoding/decoding.

There are more details in the 'Upload pen drawings to the cloud' section here.

@timl, thanks for your quick reply.

I dont want to save the Image directly in Excel. I have another place where they are saved, but PowerApps puts the Blobmanager link in the column but I want that the Base64 Text is saved in the column if this is possible.

I'm just tagging @WarrenBelz here. Warren has a great post on this topic. Effectively, you would call the JSON function to carry out the conversion.

One other comment I would add is that the OneDrive connector imposes a 2MB file limit. So if you're saving Base64 text, several signatures could quickly take up all your available space.

I guess thats not quite what I want to achieve. I tested the save as multiline Text but I couldn figure out how I add it in my APP, because it always tells me that I have invalid arguments. Is there another way to do it?

Unfortunately, I can't suggest an easier way to do this, compared to calling the JSON function.

What invalid argment error do you see? I'm able to extract the Base64 encoded image from a PenInput control without error.
