Migrating Individual Components Between Copilot Studio Environments

Hello Everyone

I’m working in Copilot Studio and need to migrate a single component (a topic) from one environment to another. I know that migrating entire solutions is supported, but is there any way to move just an individual component without packaging the whole solution?

If this is not currently possible, are there any recommended workarounds or best practices?

Thanks in advance for your guidance!

    Hello,
Copilot Studio does not currently support exporting a single topic directly, but you can still move or reuse individual topics cleanly using supported features or workarounds. The best-supported approach is Component Collections, which let you group specific topics (and their dependencies) into a small package that can be exported and imported across agents or environments without moving the entire solution. For cloning topics within the same environment, you can create a new agent and attach a Component Collection containing only your custom topics, effectively duplicating just the pieces you need. As a last resort, you can export the full agent as a solution and manually extract topic files, but this method is more error-prone. Overall, Component Collections are the recommended solution for most topic-level portability scenarios.

Can you migrate only a single topic between environments?
     No — not directly.
Microsoft currently supports migration only at the solution level, not individual topics. The official documentation explicitly states that export/import happens at the agent (solution) level, and not at topic-level granularity.
So Copilot Studio does not offer a built‑in “export this one topic” feature today.
