Hello, some of my power app's users from India are seeing this error message "Error when trying to retrieve data from the network." Has anyone seen this error message before and how can I solve this issue? Thank you.

I had this once before and the user did not have the appropriate permissions.

    Hi  @pira14,

If there is a network error, it may trigger the error message. Additionally, mismatches in the patch function could lead to this issue. If there are any discrepancies, rectifying them should resolve the problem. In case of internet connectivity issues, once resolved, the problem should automatically be resolved.

    Best regards,

Thank you for replying. I did not use any patch function for this application. I have built applications for various countries but only India is facing this problem. Users working from office and home are facing these issues and they are still facing this issue after switching network.

    Thank you

I've been running into the same error with the service account I used to create the app. Another user is having the same issue. But when I am logged in using our 'Test User' account, it doesn't seem to be an issue. All of us are based in USA. Strange how the app creator is having the most issues.

    Most likely access related.

You could let a user open a monitor session and connect to this for debugging purposes.
There you should see error related activity to drill down the cause  a bit more.

what's the source of the data the app is trying to read?

As another poster suggested it would be a good to use the monitor session. It sounds like an access issue but you need to find it which can be painful when only a set group are having an issue.

If the data is stored in a SP list as an example - could a user try to access the list directly?

Could there be discrepancies in their account based on region?

My users "occasionally" get this error - Mobile apps are common if you have a bad data connection
For desktop apps - sometimes it's because they left the window open or it's a session issue.

Sometimes they have a browser open and change their password on another computer.

I've put in many checks for network connection and user session when they launch the application but I would need to create some custom
connectors to wrap that functionality everywhere -   sometimes using a database (or dataverse) table for logging is good to know how often it's
occurring.    If you have access to application insights in Azure you can create a dashboard that will allow you to monitor it easily
