PAD connect to citrix workspace

I have requirement for PAD to log on to a virtual machine , then connect to citrix workspace and start an application then do next steps.

Have any one connected to citrix workspace. I tried to check documentation but could not find much.

You will need to make of the Power Automate Agent for virtual Desktop.

Thanks @VJR . I want to connect to citrix workspace from inside the VM. Will this also apply in that case.

Okay, I misread it as Virtual desktop through Citrix.

For Citrix Workspace we need to see if anyone has used it before with PAD.

Is PAD installed inside the same machine where the Workspace applications are? If so, then you can try out and see how the responsiveness is.

If not, then anything on two different machines (PAD and Citrix Workspace applications) is going to be troublesome. Best thing would be to try it out.

hmm that is interesting topic, I had similar case, but I managed to get to run locally as a exception for automation needs.

So If i get you correctly you need to:

1. Run your flow on VM1
2. Then connect from VM1 to VM2 and execute steps

So the agent for VMs should allow you to do that - follow link @VJR shared and install it on Citrix, sync PAD and agent versions and you should be able to automate UI apps.

@VJR yes PAD will be installed in VM1 and from VM1 it have to automate steps to connect to citrix workspace on same machine . Once on connected to citrix network will try to run a application which requires citrix network( VM1)

I am not sure how smoothly citrix session will connect from PAD initially or what kind of error handling can be done.

Want i am looking for is

1) Run the flow from VM1
2) connect to citrix session on VM1
3) run a application on VM1 which requires citrix session as pre req

That should work @Dexter_Oz
only concern is the session quality between those machines, in the past I have managed large farm of VDI machines and network was always the number one when it comes to performance issues

I have a similar issue but would like Power Automate to connect to an application within a VDI environment (via Citrix workspace) to automate a process, without installing clients/plugins on this VDI.
Please assist with the steps.

Hi @Jane_2023 , I think the PAD client would be required but that is my understanding for the action to be done outside the browser context.
