Filtered attributes in the plugin

Hi All

I know how to set the Filter attributes while registering the plugin, but is there any way to access the list of those attributes with in the plugin ?

I can't use Target entity/image entity as they may have other attributes as well along with my filter attributes, I'm particularly looking for filter attributes.

Any one any thoughts?

Thank you

-Srikanth

    Hi @SAlluri

I don't think there is a way available for this. Lets wait for others comments as well.

Appreciate for looking in to this @Pavan_Mani_Deep , @rampprakash ..

I have a specific logic to validate the field values that are passed as part of Filtered attributes. For ex: I have couple of email address fields on the entity and I need to validate them. The plugin will fire on prevalidation stage and the filter attributes are those 2 email address fields. In my plugin I'm checking if any of these fields has values then I'm validating them. but what it means is, if there is a 3rd field comes tomorrow, not only changing the filter attributes but I need to change my code as well, which I can simply avoid if I know what are the fields that are part of filter attributes.

I know I can use some sort of Configuration entity or environment variables to do this but I'm just trying to avoid a service call to retrieve these configurations as it is not something that would change daily ..

I wonder like how MS provides these target entity, images etc.. they might have buried these filter attributes somewhere deep down in that and it is just a matter of "treasure hunt" 🙂

    Thanks

    Srikanth

    Hi @SAlluri

I am afraid, there isn't any such capability to read filtering attributes from code...you may try to use some additional configuration to handle this, but this is not recommended way.

You can give heads up to your client about unavailability of such functionality, tell them upfront. Handling such scenarios isn't necessary AFAIK where you know that you were changing the filtering attributes in Plugin registration tool.

    Hope this helps...
