Hello,
We are actually connecting to SQL from Power Automate. But it is asking us to select gateway.
When it is Azure SQL it shouldn't ideally ask for Gateway rite. But it is asking.
Please help us how to set Azure SQL connection without using the Gateway.
Thanks.
Hi @Anonymous you are correct (assuming the authentication type is Azure AD or SQL Authentication, Windows Authentication expects a gateway) A. can you share a screenshot?
My issue is when we connect to Azure sql there is no need to enter gateway. Gateway is only for On Prem connection.
But for me when connecting to Azure it is still asking the gateway.
Please see my screenshot below.
If i connect without gateway i will get below error if i enter gateway and connect it would connect.
But i dont want to use gateway as it is not required for Azure sql.
Please help me in solving this issue.
Hi @Anonymous ,
When you connect to Azure sql, you don't need to choose a gateway .
If your interface is like this, there is no need to select a gateway, just click 'Create'.

My SQL is Azure SQL but I am having SQL Authentication to connect through the Power Automate there when I connect it without the Gateway it is not connecting. Only if i enter gateway it is connecting. But for Azure SQL it shouldn't ask the gateway. How can we connect to SQL without using the gateway through flow.
hi @Anonymous when you create the connection choose connect directly
When you select on-prem it asks for gateway.
Is your connector requestion a gateway whn you choose connect directly?
That Option is not there for us to select the type:
How can we have a call with Microsoft support for the issue to be resolved?
hi @Anonymous your admin can log a ticket for you at Power Platform admin center (microsoft.com).
Sorry i am confused about your question.
If you choose SQL Server authentication, this is a local connection.
If you want to connect to azure sql, maybe you should use ‘Azure AD integrated’ authenticator.
If you have any ideas, you could submit them to Here .
we are having the same issue, were you able to resolve?
