Filtering out certain rows within a Gallery

Hi,

I have created a simple checklist app for a client which was 40 questions. The client would like the option to add 4/5 photos also for some of the questions.

One problem I am facing (because I am using the gallery), is the add photo option is also showing up for questions that do not require a photo to be added. (See below)

Is there a way I can filter these out? 😎

    Hi @Shaunbuckleyy12 ,

    Where do you store the requirement for a record to have a photo (what is the field name and type)

    I store all the data on SharePoint on seperate lists. The Images are saved in the Images list as below:

    @Shaunbuckleyy12 ,

    But how do you specify if a particular item requires a photo ? Your requirement is add photo option is also showing up for questions that do not require a photo to be added.

    What determines whether a photo is required ?

    If you see on the first image, there is a *** ATTACH PHOTO*** included at the end of the question.

    This is included on each one that requires a photo.

    @Shaunbuckleyy12 ,

    Yes, but which field in your record determines if a photo is required  (how do you determine whether to add this text ?)

    The client just added that text in when sending me the list of questions they wanted within the app.

    @Shaunbuckleyy12 ,

    If you want to conditionally show or hide a control in a gallery, it must be based on some logic - I cannot answer your question without knowing the logic required. So how do you flag questions that do not require a photo ?

  • Shaunbuckleyy12 Profile Picture

    The logic is built into each question. If it has the *** ATTACH PHOTO*** included at the end of the question as it does on question 1 above in the first image, then you need to attach a photo, if it doesn't then you don't.

    Maybe I am misunderstanding your question @WarrenBelz?

    @Shaunbuckleyy12 ,

    We finally got there - I could not assume anything from your images - I needed to know this was the criteria. Visible on the Photo (you can just use the three stars)

    EndsWith(ThisItem.Question, "***")

    Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. If the content was useful in other ways, please consider giving it Thumbs Up.

    **bleep**, I feel stupid it seems like such a simple solution haha!! Thank you so much @WarrenBelz, really appreciate that help. Worked perfectly 🙌

    Do you recommend any YouTube channels to scrub up on these type of areas within Power Apps for myself?
