Stop or Cancel Power Platform Dataflow

Can someone guide me how to force stop or cancel a Power Platform Dataflow? My dataflow seems to have a problem and showing as running since past 24hrs. I don't see cancel or stop option in Power Apps maker portal nor I see any system jobs with that name in PPAC --> Environment-->Settings. Why MS has created this if there isn't a way to stop or cancel a Dataflow. Where else do I need to check?
I have the same question (0)

A standard Power Platform Dataflow cannot be manually force-stopped or cancelled directly from the Power Apps Maker Portal UI once it is locked in a frozen execution state

When it’s stuck for 24+ hours, your real options are:
    • Break dependency (fast workaround)
    • Restart gateway / environment components
    • OR Microsoft backend intervention (true fix)

@11manish Thank you sir for the quick response.

I couldn't understand the options 1 and you have given me above. My data flow is connected to SQL server instance. It is transforming and shaping the data to injest into Dataverse table. That's a brief background.

Could you please throw some light on your suggested methods.

    Thanks again

    Option 1: Break the dependency

    Do one of these:
    • Disable scheduled refresh
    • Remove or break data source connection temporarily
    • Rename SharePoint list / SQL table / API endpoint
This causes the running job to fail and eventually terminate

Option 2: Restart gateway (if used)
    • Restart gateway service
    • Wait 10–20 minutes
    • Check status again
    This often releases stuck executions.

Since your source is SQL via gateway, the fastest practical fix is restarting the On-Premises Data Gateway service on the gateway machine. Stuck dataflow refreshes are very often caused by a hung connection on the gateway side rather than the dataflow engine itself.

    Steps:

    1. On the gateway machine, open the On-premises data gateway app
    2. Go to Service Settings and restart the gateway service
    3. Wait 10 to 15 minutes, then check the dataflow refresh status again in the maker portal

If that doesn't clear it, the dependency break 11manish mentioned works because it forces the running job to error out instead of hanging indefinitely. For your SQL setup specifically, you can temporarily rename the SQL table the dataflow queries, or revoke the SQL login's permission to that table.

The refresh will then fail fast instead of staying stuck, and you can re-enable access afterward and trigger a fresh refresh.

There genuinely isn't a cancel button for dataflow refreshes in the maker portal today. If gateway restart and dependency break don't work, raise a Microsoft support ticket, refreshes stuck for 24+ hours with no UI option to cancel usually need backend intervention.
