Severe Power Apps / Dataverse slowness with intermittent 502 Bad Gateway errors

We are currently experiencing severe performance degradation in one of our Power Platform environments.

The issue affects multiple Model-Driven Apps as well as the Power Apps Maker Portal. Pages eventually load, but they are extremely slow, and sometimes we receive a 502 Bad Gateway error.

Symptoms include:

  • Model-driven apps loading very slowly
  • Forms partially loading or remaining on the loading spinner
  • Solution Explorer / Objects loading very slowly
  • Form Designer taking a very long time to load

  • Maker Portal showing:

“There was an issue retrieving your most up-to-date data.”

  • Intermittent HTTP 502 Bad Gateway errors

We tested from different devices and different internet connections, including mobile data, and the issue remains the same. Environment details:

  •

  • Environment state: Ready

  • Region: North Europe

  • Dataverse version: 9.2.26081.163

  • Power Platform Service Health: No active issues reported

  • No recent Restore / Reset / Copy operations in Environment History

  •

Example error:

Error Code: -2147015417

HTTP Error: 502 Bad Gateway

The applications were working normally before this started. The issue appears to be intermittent — sometimes the system loads successfully, but with extremely high latency.

Has anyone experienced similar Power Apps / Dataverse performance issues today, particularly in the North Europe region? Could this be related to a current Dataverse service update or backend degradation?

Hello @Ahmed_Hassan10 - I would urge you to please create a Microsoft support ticket.

The issue appears to be an intermittent Dataverse/Power Platform platform-level performance degradation affecting the North Europe environment. Because

multiple Model-driven Apps, Maker Portal components, Solution Explorer and designers are affected across different clients and networks, an application-specific

configuration issue is unlikely. The intermittent HTTP 502 responses further suggest backend/service communication or infrastructure degradation. No recent

environment operation or application change has been identified.

The recommended action is to monitor Power Platform/Microsoft 365 Service Health, collect timestamps/correlation IDs for failed requests, compare the affected

environment with another environment, and raise a Microsoft support request if the issue persists. Avoid making destructive environment or solution changes

until the platform-level cause has been ruled out.

Based on the symptoms, this looks more like an environment/service-side issue than a client-side problem, especially since it affects multiple Model-Driven Apps and the Maker Portal across different devices and networks.

A few things I would check:

    • Check Power Platform Admin Center → Support → Help + support and raise a support request if the issue persists.
    • Check PPAC → Environment → History and Analytics for any unusual activity or failures.
    • Capture the exact timestamps, correlation/request IDs, HTTP 502 errors, and affected operations. These can be very useful for Microsoft support.
    • If possible, test another environment in the same region. If other environments are unaffected, that would further point toward an environment-specific backend issue.
    • Also check the Microsoft 365 Service Health and Power Platform service health periodically, as an incident may not appear immediately.

The fact that the Maker Portal itself is also experiencing high latency is particularly interesting, as it makes an app-specific customization issue less likely.

I would avoid making any changes to the environment (reset/copy/restore) just to troubleshoot this until Microsoft Support has reviewed the telemetry.

Just a quick update: the 502 Bad Gateway error has stopped appearing, but the Dataverse environment is still intermittently very slow. Sometimes it works normally, and other times pages, forms, tables, and the Maker Portal take a long time to load.

The issue is still happening across different devices and networks, so it doesn’t seem to be related to the local connection or a specific app.

Also, Microsoft Service Health currently shows no active issues for Power Apps or Dataverse.
