Flow doesn't work properly when two people have a birthday on same day.

Hello,

I have the PowerAutomate below that posts a Teams Card when someone has a birthday.

That works perfectly fine until two people have their birthday on the same day, at which point the names of the two birthday celebrants appear on one card.
Is it possible to modify this Flow so that if more people have their birthday on the same day, two Cards are posted?

Hi @frixel,

Before going deeper, if we implement this logic like retrive all birthday records for the day --> Use Apply to each loop for each record --> Inside the loop "Post a separate Teams card" for each celebrant?

It seems, your flow collects all birthday names into a single arrya or string and posts one card with all names concatenated. By looping over each birthday record and posting a card inside the loop, you ensure each person gets their own card.

Yes, that is correct; what happens now is that all those celebrating their birthdays on that day end up on one card.
The intention is for every birthday person to receive their own card.
Where should that extra loop be placed then?

Hi Frixel,

It is hard to suggest the place as you shared an overview without knowing the exact details of each action. I do assume that the action Append to string variable is adding a birthday. Instead of appending it, you can then post the card in this loop (Apply to each). I don't know what the actions Get file metadata and Create sharing link for a file or folder are used for. They might need to be put in the same loop as well.

I have tried a few things, but I can't get it to work.

I have tried to outline the flow somewhat clearly below; hopefully, you can help me further with this.

The Get file metadata and Create sharing link for a file or folder is needed for the image that is sent along with the card. (Because the image is on SharePoint, it needs to be shared so that everyone can see it.)

Hi Frixel,

When I understand correctly, the Get file metadata and Create sharing link for a file or folder are used regardless of any person celebrating their birthday. You can then place these actions before Apply to each.

Can you share what exact attempt you have done? Maybe you can also share the details of the post card action?

Thanks for this latest reply. This makes it at least clear to me how to continue. I'm Dutch, so I also understand the message you want to send within the card.

You can change your flow orchestration to something like this:

The contents of Condition 1 might be added to the Condition itself. The post card action should then have the variable Namen from the Excel table instead of the Jarigen variable. You don't need this variable with this design.
