Random gateway timeout to Azure SQL but only with one app?

I had this problem once before, but it was more consistent and repeatable. I currently have one app that is randomly have gateway timeout trying to pull information from Azure SQL. It is not consistent between users, devices, or internet connections. It seems to come and go randomly. I attached a live monitor session to a user and was able to capture it.

Once the timeout happened then the app works fine. That isn't always the case, sometimes it never seems to time out.

Hi,

This could be possibly because of Cold Start of Azure SQL, you may check the below article

The problem disappeared as randomly as it appeared. I think it was an issue with the DB on Azure. Can't explain.

This issue keeps happening. It occurs for a few hours / days with one app then disappears for a month. Only to return with a different app. In all cases I do nothing to fix it the problem just goes away.
