Welcome to the Black Country Power Platform User Group - Virtual Lunch. This is an online lunch and learn session where we are working hard to bring to you some of the most insightful speakers that the Power Platform Community can muster.This month, we are proud to welcome Laura Graham-Brown, Business Applications MVP and Solution Architect for HSO.Dragging Dataverse data into Power BIThe one common factor every Model Driven App is they have data behind them. The data lives inside Dataverse in entities / tables (please pick a term) in columns carefully named with numerous relationships all carefully designed and executed to do the magic of Dynamics or your own design. Then you get a wild idea to add a report or two, so you launch Power BI all excited.We will start with why and how you should select and rename columns and why you should care about Query Folding. We will explore how to avoid the spaghetti junction relationship diagram that Power BI lovingly creates for you. Finally, what the difference is between Import and Direct query and which one you should choose.I promise a fast-paced fun session with numerous demos.The session will be hosted as a Microsoft Teams meeting allowing you to chat with other likeminded people who are interested in finding out more about the Power Platform.Before joining, please ensure that you have read our code of conduct, which is available in our discussions thread.Any questions in the mean time, please feel free to post.
