Hi All,

I'm trying to create a Connection from Power Apps to our on-prem Oracle database but I'm getting the following error:

The provider being used is deprecated: 'System.Data.OracleClient requires Oracle client software version 8.1.7 or greater.'. Please visit https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkID=272376 to install the official provider. inner exception: The provider being used is deprecated: 'System.Data.OracleClient requires Oracle client software version 8.1.7 or greater.'. Please visit https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkID=272376 to install the official provider. clientRequestId: 5055ee33-f2c5-4e57-84e6-646670844209

I'm working with the Gateway Server administrator, she was able to replicate the error using Power BI Desktop on this server. We followed Microsoft instructions and downloaded and installed "64-bit ODAC 12.2c Release 1 (12.2.0.1.1) for Windows x64" and configured the tnsnames.ora file. After that, we were able to connect to the Oracle database from Power BI Desktop but the error is still happened when trying to create the connection from Power Apps.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

Erick

    This is not usefull AT ALL. It only says that if you have the error showed above, download the client version. I HAVE INSTALLED that version already but the error keeps showing.

    Oracle server 11g

    Oracle client 12.2.....

    And still can't use Oracle connector either on power automate nor power apps.

    @FacundoGorla,

    My error has been resolved since then. The problem was that we were using an old data gateway version.

    Try downloading the latest data gateway version and the error should go away.

    Thank you,

    My issue was resolved too after updating to the latest version of the data gateway software. Thanks

    I followed the official links from the beggining and used this one. I suppose this is the one to use right?

    Yes that is the latest. If you want previous version they are here - Previous monthly updates to the on-premises data gateways | Microsoft Docs
