Excel-file not found, using "Get active Exel Worksheet". Only when using One-Drive

Hi,

I'm using Power Automate Desktop. In my flow I'm using a Excel file using the "get active Excel worksheet" action. I do this to read data from an Excel-file stored in an Onedrive location using the %ExcelInstance%. But this gives an error message saying the file cannot be found, like "Excel-document C:\Users\User\OneDrive\... not found".

Before the file was stored on a Dropbox location and there was no problem. Also when I change it back to Dropbox or a local location it works fine.

Is there any known issue when using Onedrive? Can anyone help me solve this issue?

It could be caused by the auto-sync that OneDrive runs, if you use the OneDrive app to sync a directory from SharePoint/OneDrive to your local system.

I have experienced issues with it, especially when writing to files on OneDrive/SharePoint. Reading usually works fine. But if you struggle to do it, it might make sense to try to copy the file locally to your machine first (using Copy file(s)) and then open and read the local copy. If you also modify your file, too (write to it), then you'd need to move it back to the OneDrive directory after making the modifications.
