Hello,
I want to copy email attachment to OneDrive, add link to the attachment in the email and delete attachment from email.
Using the Microsoft Graph API ,
I did created a Module , which reads the emails on the Office 365 email boxes ( Specific folders )
and to upload the attachments to One drive Folder + and to remove the same from the Mails (Delete) after attaching link to every specific file into the email body (
because of the huge attachments are replaced with few bytes of link , Mail box size will be freed up drastically so as no requirements to delete or archive mails
Effectively the mailbox capacity is extended with Huge sized Onedrive space -
The users dos not have any inconvenience in opening attachments , they get mails processed faster , feels better
All Uses standard functions and process
All
You can create a macro with VBA so with one click it saves the email attachment(s) to a folder you choose, deletes the original attachments from the email (but not the email message), and adds a hyperlink to find the attachment right to the original email which remains in your Outlook. I've got it working pretty good, except if I run the macro on multiple emails it adds the hyperlink list of ALL removed attachments to ALL emails. I need it to only list the attachments deleted from each email.
The only way I thinks this can be done, it's to forward the email to your inbox without attachments and delete the original
I'm looking for solution to this topic. Has anything changed since it's been 4 years?
If you want to shrink your mailbox, you can delete the email with the Outlook connector. But there is not a way to delete the attachment and keep the email.
Hello,
I was hoping I can shink may mailbox like that - but sadly I undersatnd I can't.
Thanks for the answer.
Shay
Here is a template that saves Office 365 Outlook attachments to OneDrive for Business: Save Office 365 email attachments to OneDrive for Business.
You an extend this template to take the link from OneDrive For Business and store it somewhere, like a Sharepoint list. Unfortunately there is no way to edit an email with our Outlook connector.
