Approvals - Forwarding Approval to another party, before original approver approving

Hello,

I created a Power Automate Flow for approval of some data. It's been requested by a Senior Manager to be able to hold on his approval until he's reassigns it to someone of his choice. After that other person approved, the Senior Manager wants to then take control back of the approval item. My understanding from the documentation is that once the Senior Manager reassigns the approval, it wouldn't come back to him once the other person approves the item.

My first thought was to have the Approval Type set to "Everyone must approve" and see if the reassignment keeps the original approver but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Any thoughts on how to setup this up, if it's possible, are appreciated.

Thanks,

You will need to build an app around this.

On the approval side you set to everyone has to approve and give the approval to the manager and additionally to that to a dummy user.

Then in the app you show the manager all the approvals of the dummy user and let him decide who should approve that.

That triggers a flow which then rewrites the owner of the Approval request to dataverse (table called "Approval Request")

You will also have to track those assignments somehow so you can inform the manager as soon as the assigned person has approved. You can also do this in the app.

Thank you for your guidance. I figured it would take a custom solution to accomplish this.
