Hello everyone,

I've been tasked to create a Powerautomate flow to do some automation with excel files in sharepoint.
I've been granted read access to the necessary files, and I just need basic actions such as "Get tables" and "Get worksheets".

However, when I run my flow, I get the error : "The user doesn't have permissions to open the workbook in edit mode".

Are write permissions really mandatory to use this connector ?

What kind of work around could I use ?

Thanks in advance for your answers

From what I could gather, write permissions are mandatory, even If you only want to read data.

If you need to edit the table, yes you need write permissions to the file.

If you can't be given write permissions an alternative is to create a service account which can write to the account from Power Automate.
