Date Time Zone

Hi,

I have a date time column in a SharePoint list. I have added the field as dynamic content to an email in Power Automate but the time is coming out as 1 hour behind the value in the SharePoint list. Does anyone know what formula I need to use so that the time always comes out in the London time zone?

Thanks,
Lucy

    Hi,

Sure, you can resolve the 1 hour difference by adding a "Convert time zone" action.  Alternatively, you can do this with an expression as well:

    addHours(body('Current_time'),1)

-- where body('Current_time') is your dynamic content from your List.

In this example, this adds one hour to the current time.  Replace body('Current_time') with the dynamic content from your List.

You can also subtract one hour too

    addHours(body('Current_time'),-1)

SharePoint uses Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) to store dates and times.

So when a user enters a date and time, SharePoint will convert it from the user's or site's local time zone to UTC for storage. This ensures date/time is consistent  across users in different time zones.

London time is British Summer Time (BST) which is currently UTC+1. When BST ends (on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at 02:00AM), London time will then revert to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), which will then be the same as UTC.

So the best option would be to use  a convert time zone action.
