Issues creating an SOP dynamic approval flow

Hello all,

I am currently working on a flow to automate the approval process for my company's SOPs. They are housed in the Documents folder of the drive within subfolders organized by department.

I followed the steps in this video: Dynamic Approvals in Power Automate | SharePoint List based Approval Tutorial - YouTube to create an approval matrix to determine the approvers for each department.

I am getting stuck in my flow where I would need to update the approval status. (If Yes)

My issues are:

1) When I select “Update file properties”, I am able to select the file, however it also asks me for the id. Do I need to add a step to pull this info? Or just select Id from the dynamic content menu?

2) The approval status is not an option to update

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My Flow so far:

So far I have no issues on the flow checker outside of not completing the last box.

Thanks in advance 🙂

    1) Since you are updating the File metadata the Item ID for the file is a required field.  Its the Item ID you want, not the Identifier.  You should have that from the trigger.

    2) The approval status column is a holdover from the old Publishing System.  In the Versioning Settings for the library there is an option for Require Content Approval.  The Approval Status column is added when you enable that setting.

    1) I'm not sure what you mean here

    2) I already have this turned on; I'm referencing in the flow it is not an option I can select to update.
