SharePoint customized PowerApp List Form, Rating Control

I have a customized PowerApps List form and have a dropdown with values 1-5.  I wanted to turn that dropdown into a Rating control and bind it to the Rating SharePoint List field.  I tried it and it will save the star rating value, but then when I open the form back up that value is not saved to show the number of stars.  I know it works well in a Canvas App, but I'm doing this just in the SharePoint Form App.

    Hi @kmw1130 ,

    Can you please share the Default property of the Rating control? I expect it may still be set to 3, where it should say Parent.Default.

    @BCBuizer Can my Sharepoint column be a dropdown or should it be a number field or single text field?

    @BCBuizer Yes it is 3, but when I change it to Parent.Default it errors.  Data Type:  Record

    Hi @kmw1130 ,

    I'm not sure how the data type is relevant since you mentioned you are able to save the value properly. Did you check the Default property?

    Hi @kmw1130 ,

    Try setting it to Parent.Default.Value

    @kmw1130

    Don't waste your time trying to do it yourself!

    Remove your field from your form, then add it back.  Do not unlock it at this point, but when you add the field back in, change the Control type to "Rating".  Everything else will be done for you.  You can unlock and alter anything different that you want at that time.

    Your underlying column should be a number column.

    I hope this is helpful for you.

    @BCBuizer I had tried that and it didn't work.  I'm going to try what @RandyHayes suggested.

    @RandyHayes @That worked great, now how do I show the rating value after it is saved and open the item to edit.

    @RandyHayes Do I need to set the Default on the DataValueCard for the sharepoint list field to get what was selected for the rating stars?  It is not showing the stars' value once the item is saved and reopened.
