Simple event attendance 'clicker' / people counter

Hi, I'm trying to build a simple PowerApp for an event to record how many Adult and how many Children have entered the event (and also leave). Think of it as a digital version of the little clicker counters some events use.

We will have multiple people simultaneously using this app at different entry points.
Event management need to be able to know roughly how many people are at the event for safety and securty reasons. This might be with a dashboard or a scheduled email.

I couldn't find anything to base it on so I built a SharePoint list and the basic app showing the current count, a + and the x button. I have a few problems I'm hoping the brains trust can assit with.
(Below is what the app looks like)

  • if you try to add or remove people too fast, you get a conflict message.
Conflict exit with changes on the server, please reload.
    Server Response: ETAG mismatch

  • The current attendance value doesn't always update or only updates after the next click.

The Sharepoint list has two columns, TITLE & ATTENDANCE, with a row for Adult and Child.

The action code is currently:

Refresh(BUTS_Attendance);Patch(BUTS_Attendance, ThisItem, {Attendance:ThisItem.Attendance+1})

and

Refresh(BUTS_Attendance);Patch(BUTS_Attendance, ThisItem, {Attendance:ThisItem.Attendance-1})

The backend doesn't have to be Sharepoint, I just thought that was going to be easy.
