Appearance of new Modern Controls

Hi,

 

the new modern controls such as button, check box, drop down, etc have a different appearance and you can select an "Appearance" property. Currently you can select Microsoft preset Appearance options: 'PowerApps.CoreControls.ButtonCanvas.Appearance'...

 

Can we create our own? Also, how do we modify the App themes? I have been storing my formatting properties in variables.
