Update a master Excel spreadsheet from Excel sheets created in a Teams channel

Hi, this feels like a simple request but I carry on running into different challenges.

I am going to receive lots of Excel documents all formatted the same via email.  I want to archive the documents in a Teams channel with a unique name and then take the data from these Excel documents to update a master Excel document in another Teams folder in the same channel.

I have no issues with the flow to take an attachment from a mailbox and creating the document in the Teams channel.  Likewise I have a workflow to copy the data from a single named Excel document and updating a master.  What I have the challenge with is taking the data from the newly created documents and updating the master.  I think the problem is the different flows I have tried all want to source a single document and when I use document ID from a previous step I run into problems.

The Excel documents have a Table configured and I have tried various combinations of 'List Rows' and 'Get Rows'.  I've also tried to do it by creating a list then extracting from the list.  I think it is the configuration to capture the 'new document' where my problem is.

Copilot is sending me in circles or providing advice I don't understand, and different blogs and videos all suggest they will work but do something 'slightly different'.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Hi

I understand the frustration, but you have to share with us what you have, so we can help. Doing what you want is easy, so there has to be more to it then you are explaining and is why we need to see.

Taking data from one Table in an excel and adding it to another is not hard, so is the problem you cannot match the records, or you cannot find the files or you dont have keys, what exactly is blocking you?

Ok this is good, but it makes it sound like you are doing this IN this flow, or is this just more information that you have done it before? This is why its confusing to just have long explanations and no pictures.

--let's try not to do this, it just gets in our head and can :-) confuse it, just tell us the issue hehe so we can help

And its why I am confused. You said you know how to take data from a single file and add it to the master, so what exactly is blocking you, as you seem to have the knowledge you said.

So is the issue, that you have files that don't have tables in them so you dont what to do, or you put them in Teams and now you cannot access them or what?

Definitely can help but there is alot of noise in the post hehe (dont worry I do it too), but not really any specifics on what you are blocked BY.

    Cheers,
