Excel file types

Hi,

I am trying to use the 'Get row' action to link into an excel sheet. The excel sheet in question uses macros and is there for a .XLSM file.
When looking for the file in the action parameters I cannot find it but the .XLSX in the same folder is visible.

Are there limitations on the file types that can be used with the 'Get row' action block?

Power Automate Desktop supports interacting with macro-enabled workbooks.
Open the workbook. Extract the required data. Close the workbook.
This approach is more complex but allows for direct interaction with .XLSM files.

If your workflows frequently depend on .XLSM files, consider automating the process of saving or exporting the data to .XLSX format to maintain compatibility with Power Automate.

if you need more details, pls let me know. thanks

    Hi,

There is no limitation for spreadsheets with macros. Although the .xlsm files are not displayed in the file tree of Excel actions, you can manually enter their name in the "File" input (highlighted below):

    The action will run successfully:
