Power Automate to refresh Power BI data failing.

Good morning,

I'm new to Power automate and a lot of the more nebulous background things in office 365.

I have made a Power BI report that is pulling data from a SharePoint folder. the data is pulled to the folder from a flow that pulls the data from an email and replaces the data in the folder. This happens every hour.

So i made a second flow to update the data set in my Power BI report. the flow is simple (possibly the problem?)

Recurrence: 1, hour > Refresh a Dataset (Preview): my Workspace, the dataset's name.

It ran successfully for 8 hours yesterday then broke down and when I try to run a test it says "flow trigger says Preview has a limit to the number of time I can run it"

does this mean that I cant use the preview version of this Power BI trigger? If so how do I get the non-preview version?

also would it be possible to just set up several versions of the flow described above set to run for 8 hours each?

thanks for any help you can provide!

Actually, if he creates a flow with power automate, then should not count as an automatic update from power bi, but a manual update. If it's included on the 8 automatic updates from power bi, then doesn't makes any sense.

    Hi @WSavage,

Yes, the limitation is 8 times per license, if you have 3 accounts with Power BI pro license, they add up to 24 times. If you want to refresh Power BI all a day, you could set 3 Flows by 3 different accounts to refresh it at different times.

    thanks for the info!

I did have a question, is the limit of 8 refreshes per license? i have another department that would like to use power bi and i am wanting to make sure they can at least use the features.

    thanks!

    Hi @WSavage,

This is a limitation of the Maximum number of automatic refreshes per day, if you are Power BI Pro, the maximum number is 8, if you are Power BI Premium, it is 48 per day:
