I have a workflow that once an item is added to a SharePoint list, an approval workflow is launched. The Approver is receiving 2 emails for the same item. When I look at the Run History, it is showing that the flow is run 2 times, either at the exact same time, or about a minute apart.
I had found another thread that someone had said they rebuilt their workflow exactly the same as the original and they stopped having the issue. My problem is I do not have the time to rebuild all my workflows to solve what should be a non-issue. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you cure it?
Hi @KJG
I also have the same issue as your post.
I have a workflow, after the user submit a new request, the approver will receive an approval notification.
At this point, if the approver without taking any action, after 1-3 min will receive the 2nd approval request.
This issue is quite strange, because sometimes even already approved the request, still receive the approval email.
Do you know what the root cause is?
Thank you, Alice. I do have my flow creating a Planner Task once the original item is approved. do you think that is what's triggering it twice?
Hi @KJG ,
Could you please share a screenshot of the configuration of your flow?
I'm afraid that the flow has been triggered twice so the flow would run two times to send two approval emails. Please make sure that your flow trigger is when an item is created, and make sure you don't have another flow to add an item when an item is created.
Best regards,
Alice

Hi Scott,
Yes, I am listed as the "Requested by" on both emails. They are exactly the same email, and both show as received at the exact same time in my Outlook.
Please take a look at the approval emails. Does your name appear in both after "Created By:"?
