Expression error

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I keep receiving this error when I try to run a flow:

The expression "5/13/2020" is not valid. Creating query failed.

I am using the expression

addDays(utcNow(),14,'M/d/yyyy')
to help send an email reminder at 14 days prior to the due date of a SharePoint list but can not get it to work with the expression.  Can anyone assist me with this.

For SharePoint you need to use the following date format:  'yyyy-MM-dd'

It is still not working and bringing up a date that doesn't exist.  It is now saying 2020/34/13

Can you post a screen shot of your Flow as well as a screen shot of your last run - the more detail the better.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

When you configuring Filter Query, you should fill leas two parameters in Filter Query to filter items.

It seems that you are filling only one parameter in Filter Query.

    • First, you could run Get items action without configuring Filter Query and check the body of Get items action.

    • Get the actual name of date column and fill it in Filter Query.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

As I mentioned in my previous reply, you are configuring a single parameter in Filter Query.

The output of Compose only is a date, you could add a date column to compare with this output and filter items.

Please check this link and get more details about Filter Query:

    Best Regards,
