I’m exploring the possibility of building a client-facing app for a tax advisory firm using Microsoft Power Apps together with Microsoft Power Automate, and I’d really appreciate insights from anyone who has implemented something similar.
This is the thing:
We are a small advisory firm that wants to improve the client experience and automate some internal processes. The idea is to create a branded client app where customers could:
-
Upload tax documents and invoices
-
Track the status of their filings or requests
-
Receive notifications or reminders (tax deadlines, missing documentation, etc.)
-
Access simple dashboards with key information
-
Communicate with the advisory team
Our initial idea is something like this:
Power Apps: client portal / interface (with our branding and UX)
Power Automate: workflows for document processing, notifications, and internal task automation
SharePoint / Dataverse / OneDrive: document storage and data management
Has anyone built a client portal or app for professional services (tax, legal, consulting) using Power Apps?
My questions are:
Are there limitations when trying to implement strong branding and a polished UI?
Did it actually improve efficiency and client experience, or did you find it too complex for clients to adopt?
I’m especially interested in real experiences, specially what worked or what didn’t.
Thanks in advance and thank you from reading me
