Left hanging adding data source to a form - canvas app

Several times today I've attempted to add fields from a SharePoint data source to a form but am left hanging on 'Please wait' for so long that my only option is to refresh the browser and exit the app.

I've tried it with different SP data sources and on different screens/forms but it's the same every time.

Is there anything else I can try?

I have not had that problem, but one thing you could try is to export the data to an excel spreadsheet and see if you can import the data using the spreadsheet as a data source. It would also give you the opportunity to inspect the data to see if there is some irregularity in it.

Thanks for the idea @Drrickryp. My SharePoint list has over 100 columns, and many of these were in the default view, so I think that's what the issue was. It's fine now I've removed most of the columns as default, but even just adding 3 of the columns to a form takes a while. It gets there eventually though.
