Update Event (v2) - office 365 - not finding object error

I am creating flows that automatically add and update events created in an outlook.com, in an office 365 calendar.  I can easily get this to work for adding events, but the flow for updating events is failing. The failure tracking has the error information below.  Does anyone have any idea why I am getting this error.... I am a novice at this so it may be a smiple problem caused by my ignorance.

Error Details

It states that "The specified object was not found in the store. clientRequestId:"

  "status"404,
"message""The specified object was not found in the store.\r\nclientRequestId: 3325b6d7-1e34-4114-8fd0-a19656d6a7f2\r\nserviceRequestId: 776599dc-549e-4b1a-8eab-fa0425b3ca4f",

    Hi @Anonymous,

How is your flow with the action Update event created? Could you share a screenshot of the flow?

There is an Id field in the action Update event, what value have you specified for this field?

Please share more details to help reproduce it.

    Best regards,

    Mabel Mao

Thanks so much for your help!  Below is the flow that I am using.  I had mapped more of the fields, but was using only the required information, to see if I could get it working.  I think that it is not finding the "ID" of the orginal event... but just learning here.

I have the same Problem. Looks like the Event-ID is wrong... or a Permission Problem?

I am by no means an expert, but I think it is the ID somehow.  I do not think that it is a permission issue, see as i can create the events with not problem.  I am only having problems updating them.

Having the same issue with EVENT ID being the problem for updating events.

Let me know if anyone has a solution for this. Adding an event is no problem but updating seems to be the issue.

This one intrigues me and I want to take a crack at it.  Can either of you share an example use-case so I can try an appropriate Flow?

I guess my first question is: If your trigger is "When an event is modified" and your action is to "Modify an event", wouldn't that create a loop?

    Let me know.

    Thanks!

Using Airtame and their new Home Sceen layout to present a list for Conference Room booking. They only support resource calendars, however our Online platform only supports Google Calendar integration.

    1- Online platform creates event

    2- Syncs to Google Calendar

    (current setup 1-2)

3 - Google Calendar Pushes to O365 resource calendar (Conference Room)

4 - O365 Resource calendar then pushes to Airtame

(steps 3-4 are what I'm trying to setup using Flow).

I can get it to add the event but sholjd it be updated in the platform or removed it doesn't change in O365 resource calendar.

(the ID field is required or else I wouldn't use it to try to eliminate that being the cause of the issue).

Ah, ok... I think I get it.  My first presumption was that this was all happening in the same calendar.  This makes much more sense.

A couple of things (apologies if I cover stuff you already know) -

    • The event ID in the Google Calendar will most likely be different than the ID in the O365 Calendar.  We'll have to do something to find the O365 Event ID before we try to update that event in O365.
    • The trigger you're using (When an event is Added, Changed, or Deleted) corresponds to 3 distinct actions on the O365 side.  We'll have to look at which action happened in the trigger, and then maybe build 3 parallel paths to use the appropriate action.
    • How are you connecting to Airtame (or have we not gotten that far yet)?

I'll start poking around, but let me know if you see any deal-breakers in the above.

    Ok, getting into this...

    • I'm using Switch to look at the actiontype from Google.  It looks like the options are "added", "updated", or "deleted".

On the "added", since it's a new event, I'm working to write the O365 event ID back to the Google event to make things easier for "updated" and "deleted" (will the events ALWAYS be in Google before O365?)  I added a delimiter cat-emoji (highlighted below) to keep the original description intact, but you might have another way you'd like to do it:20190617c.PNG

The result on the Google calendar is ugly, but it will give us something to parse when we want to connect the dots between the two IDs.  Another great option would be to store both ID's in a table somewhere.  I might try that instead.  That's the O365 Event ID highlighted before the cat and original event description from the Google trigger.20190617b.PNG

Will that work for you so far?
