Send email with respondent's email address

Hello PowerUsers,

I created a pretty simple flow to get responses on a sharepoint list/form and send email to a certain set of email addresses based on what was filled in. It is more like an incident report. This flow runs fine but for one thing.

In my tests, sending emails works with my email address but I need it send emails based on the respondent's email address. So when Mr. A fills the form, the email address of the sender would be a@example.com, and so on like that. How do I achieve this?

NB: As seen in the images, I saw an advanced option during the flow creation that allows me use the respondent's email - Created By Email - but this throws up errors as it requires some sort of permissions. What do I do? Kindly guide me.

Thanks

    HI @eopara,

Do you want the creator of the item within your SharePoint list to be the sender of the email?

The sender of the Outlook email is based on the connection to the "Send an email" action. In other words, if user A create a connection to "Send an email" action of Outlook connector with his own Office 365 account, the sender of the email would be user A, otherwise, if user B create a connection to "Send an email" action of Outlook connector with his own Office 365 account, the sender of the email would be user B.

The error message told that you don't have "Send as" or "Send on behalf of" permission for that mailbox (the Created By Email dynamic content that you filled in From field). If you want to send email on behalf of other mailboxes, please configure the permission for your mailbox with the following article:

Send an email on behalf of another user

    Best regards,

    Kris
