Flow sending 15 emails every time it runs!

I've created a flow using the "Create a daily summary of Planner Tasks by Bucket" template.  Every time the flow runs, it sends the recipient 15 emails.

Does anyone know why?

The only changes made to the template were adding an email address, changing the subject line, and the recurrence time to 5:oo pm EST.  Here's a link to the template

I suspect that your send an email action is inside of a loop.  Please post a screen shot of your Flow.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

It seems that you are configuring the dynamic content of the output of List buckets or List tasks action in Send email action, so Apply to each appears.

Please do not configure Send email action in Apply to each. You can tell us what additional content needs to be added in Send email action so that we can provide you with suitable workaround.

If you want to send email to the user who created the task, you can add the following steps.

    • Add an array variable, named CreatedBy. Rely on the user id to get the user email and append it to the array variable.
    • Use the union() function to remove duplicates, and use the join() action to separate email addresses and fill in the To field.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply @v-bacao-msft

I am the creator of all the tasks listed in the Planner.  I would like to an email to my coworker on all the tasks that I have completed that day.

Right now the email only contains the table with task name and date completed for each bucket.  That information is sufficient for my purpose.

    Thank you!

    Hi @Anonymous ,

I'm afraid I don't understand who the coworker you mentioned refers to.

The users contained in the Task seem to be only Assigned to / Assigned By / Created by.

Please provide more details so that we could understand your needs better.

    Best Regards,

    Hi @v-bacao-msft

I am trying to send an email to my coworker at the end of the day with a summary of all the tasks I completed that day.  The user contained in the Tasks under Assigned to/ Assigned by / Created by are all me. The flow produces the following table:

    PA Screenshot.PNG

This table is exactly what I need.  The problem is that it is sending the email to a single person fifteen times. Is there a way to stop the email from firing that many times?

    Does this clarify things?

Thank you for your assistance. I appreciate it.

    Hi @Anonymous

What did you fill in the To field? ?

As long as you do not configure Send email action in any Apply to each, your problem will not appear. I have already mentioned this in my previous reply.
